Last weekend I braved the minus 0 degree temperature to witness workshops held at the exhibition “Social Practice, Community and Ecology”. This took place at The Gallery, Industry City. There I met with Ellie Irons as she showed visitors her weed installation of pervasive plants from Bushwick and pigments from the same. It was from her ideas and experiments that led me to create several works with pigments based from the plant life in English Kills. In addition there was a panel discussion about artists working with different models of social practice.
